Social Meetings
SHOC meets socially (café lunches and other planned activities) 2 or 3 times a year, plus holds an Annual General meeting and a Christmas party.
Newsletter
SHOC has a twice-yearly newsletter about the club’s activities sent out to all members.
Donations
SHOC raises a small amount of funds from subscriptions and donations received from members and friends of SHOC and also has a ‘Just Giving Page’. These funds are used to provide specialist equipment (not normally provided by the Hospital Trust) for the comfort and benefit of cardiac patients on the cardiac unit, Chesterman Wing, Northern General Hospital Sheffield.
Volunteer Meetings
These are held normally 3 times a year for volunteers to meet with the nurse specialists and members of the committee to exchange information, share good experiences/or worries.
The Committee
The committee is comprised of ex-patients and retired health workers and meets monthly.
The current committee members are:
