In 2005 Shoc Volunteers were presented with the Sheffield Teaching Hospital Trusts ‘Excellence Thank you Award’ in the Patient Care category. The awards recognise the dedication, commitment and innovation shown by staff and volunteers working in the hospital to improve patient service.
In June 2022 all volunteers working at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals were awarded ‘The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service’. This included Shoc Volunteers who are a Partnership organisation within the hospital volunteer service. The award is equivalent to an MBE and is the highest award a local voluntary group can receive. Like the earlier award it recognises the commitment and contribution volunteers make to provide services to improve the experience of patients.
